Forward Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona has been mentioned as potentially joining the MLS in 2024.

WHAT HAPPENED: According to TUDNUSA,'many' MLS teams that are looking for a striker this offseason have the 35-year-old Polish striker on their wishlist.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Lewandowski, at his age, would be a high earner in the league if he were signed to a DP contract by any MLS team. His contract with Barcelona expires in June 2026, so any club that wanted to sign him would have to pay a significant sum of money.

WHAT THEY SAID: Lewandowski discussed his belief that he would play in Major League Soccer (MLS) in a September interview with AS. "The idea of MLS was firmly in my mind before the coronavirus pandemic," he stated. But later, for some reason, I had second thoughts. That's hard to believe after the Barcelona chapter.

NEXT FORLEWANDOWSKI, WHAT? Barcelona will play Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League match on Tuesday when they return to action.
