2026 WCQ: 22 players arrive, full house Uyo camp of the Super Eagles

 


Tuesday afternoon saw the arrival of most of the invited players for the Super Eagles' 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, which brought the Four Points hotel headquarters in Uyo to life.

There are now 22 players on the squad after 16 players easily entered the camp.

On Monday, six players reported to the training.

Amas Obasogie, the goalie for Bendel Insurance, is still anticipated at camp.

Maduka Okoye, the injured shot stopper for Udinese of Italy, was replaced by Obasogie.

The Super Eagles will face Lesotho on Thursday after two training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo is the scheduled venue for the matchup with the Likuena.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe will also face Jose Peseiro's team on Sunday at the Huye Stadium in Butare.
