Ronaldo might still love United but he isn't quitting Madrid, says Mourinho in latest round of mind games with Moyes

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned David Moyes he does not expect to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United this summer.
The Real Madrid forward, 28, has spoken of how he misses England and United were hoping to lure him back to Old Trafford four years after selling him for a world record fee of £80million.
It would be an audacious transfer coup sure to make up for the possible departure of Wayne Rooney in the eyes of supporters, but the Chelsea boss does not expect him to leave the Bernabeu.

Mourinho said: 'What I know is that Real Madrid is such a rich club they don’t need to sell and it is such a rich club I think they can eat any offer a club can have on Ronaldo.

'I know Ronaldo loves Manchester United and I know he loves the Premier League but I think he is going to stay. It’s just a feeling, no contact, nothing, just a feeling.'

Mourinho has spent the last three years working with Ronaldo at Real Madrid - they won the Spanish title in 2012 - and they share the same agent, Jorge Mendes.

Ronaldo, scorer of 35 league goals last season and on target twice in a pre-season friendly at Bournemouth, has only two years left on his contract.

There were meetings at the end of last season between Mendes and United’s then chief executive David Gill and, earlier this month, Ronaldo seemed to offer encouragement when he said: 'Everyone knows it is a club still in my heart and one I really miss.'

Like his predecessor Mourinho, Real manager Carlo Ancelotti expects Ronaldo to stay. 'His contract renewal isn’t my job but I don’t think it will be a problem,' said Ancelotti.

Mega-rich French clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are also in the chase.

Mendes has already moved several clients to Monaco, including Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez and Ricardo Carvalho, while PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi will try to exploit his friendship with Real president Florentino Perez.

'I have a good relationship with Florentino Perez,' said Al-Khelaifi. 'If I want my dream of signing Cristiano to be met, I’ll call.'
