Single Selena Gomez celebrates turning 21 in tiny shorts... as clip reveals Justin Bieber had a crush on her two years before they started dating

She turned 21 on Monday and therefore of legal drinking age, so Selena Gomez was undoubtedly excited to celebrate.
The actress and singer certainly seemed in good spirits as she arrived at Bagatelle restaurant in West Hollywood.
As the birthday girl there was never any doubt that Selena was going to be the centre of attention, but she made sure to wear a stand-out ensemble just in case.

The gorgeous brunette looked sizzling as she slipped into a pair of tiny high-waisted white hotpants, which left her long and slender legs on show.

Selena also flashed her toned midriff in an embellished crop top by Missguided.co.uk and gave herself a boost with cream caged shoe boots.

There’s no doubt her on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, who she is currently not dating, would have been kicking himself after seeing how stunning she looked.

Justin Bieber revealed he had a crush on Selena before they dated

The singer was not in attendance at the celebrations, according to TMZ, but had been iced onto the star’s birthday cake in pictures.

It comes as footage has emerged of a 15-year-old Justin telling DJ SKEE on SKEE LIVE, which airs on AXS TV, that he has a crush on Selena – two years before they started dating.

When asked in July 2009 if there was a particular female celebrity, the floppy-haired popstrel said: ‘I have a crush on Selena Gomez.’

Justin, who at the time had only recently cemented his star status, then blushed and said: ‘No one heard that.’

At the time Selena was dating Nick Jonas, but she and Justin made their debut as a couple just under two years later, at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in February 2011.

After their dinner on Monday, Selena and her party, which included Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson, hit Beacher’s Madhouse.

The group had VIP seats to watch Busty Heart, a well-endowed performer knock down beer cans with her assets.

Earlier in the day Selena had taken a break from her birthday festivities to chat with entertainment reporter Dean Richards via satellite.

But the former Wizards Of Waverly Place was clearly blindsided by a series of probing questions regarding her on-off flame and abruptly ended the interview.

But just the day before Selena seemed to be in a much more candid mood as she answered similarly difficult questions when interviewed by Ryan Seacrest on E! News.

When asked if she was dating Bieber again, she said: 'No, I'm not. I think I'm okay with being content right now. I think that's what I'm happy with. And then whatever happens happens.'

She found fame as a child star on shows such as Barney And Friends and Wizards Of Waverly Place.

But Selena Gomez wants the world to know she is all grown up.

'And how many of those did you have?' asked The Tonight Show host about the number of drinks consumed on her birthday on Monday.

'I don't remember,' replied Selena, scrunching up her face before giggling.

'Are you hungover today, was it a big party?' he asked.

'A little bit, it was fun though, it was good,' said Selena, who was promoting her new album Stars Dance. 'I'll have a birthday party this weekend but I had a dinner with my friends, the party's going to be kind of a gypsy theme, I'm excited.'

'We're gonna have skirts and tattoos and belly dancers. It'll be kind of the whole thing, It'll be fun.'

The svelte star also revealed her unusual choice of birthday cake.

'I love fast food a lot and Jack In The Box tacos are my absolute favourite.,' said Selena.

'My friends made me a birthday cake of Jack In The Box tacos with 21 on it,' she said, as a Twiiter picture from the previous night showed her holding the savoury platter.

The Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection is inspired by powerful female icons from Madonna to Margaret Thatcher and takes power dressing to an elegantly, futuristic and erotic new level.

The collection brings together gorgeous grown-up necklines and subtle hem cut outs with masculine tuxedos collars and sharp silhouettes.

And while some of the pieces may be slightly too futuristic for Abbey, others will be a welcome addition to her wardrobe.

Speaking previously about where she gets her fashion inspiration from, Abbey said in a previous interview: 'I am a massive Bridget Bardot fan! I love her. My fashion icons now…I love Blake Lively, and the way she dresses, I just think she is gorgeous, she always looks amazing, dead girlie and sexy.

'And of course Kate Moss always looks amazing. And love Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.'

On Sunday Abbey was seen going for a stroll with her husband Peter in Primrose Hill, making the most of the glorious sunshine.

Enjoying their day out, Peter and Abbey grabbed a bite to eat at local Greek eatery Lemonia, before browsing in a number of shop windows as they meandered towards the local park.

Demi Lovato warns pal Miley Cyrus of the dangers of drugs after star 'confirms MDMA reference in her hit song We Can't Stop'

She recently admitted that she references the party drug MDMA in her hit song, We Can't Stop.
And with her past antics, which also includes reported marijuana use, Miley Cyrus is now seemingly marketing herself as a party girl.
But her actions have left many worrying, including gal pal and former Hannah Montana co-star Demi Lovato, who herself sought help for substance use, emotional issues and cutting in 2011.
Pals: Demi Lovato has cautioned her old pal Miley Cyrus (pictured together in April 2009) about the dangers of partying and doing drugs Pals: Demi Lovato has cautioned her old pal Miley Cyrus (pictured together in April 2009) about the dangers of partying and doing drugs

In a new interview with MTV News, Demi says that she has cautioned her friend on the subject of partying.

'She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing…' Demi said. 'And I’m always like, "Just be careful." And she’s like, "Dude, I’m chilling. It’s fine."'

For now, Demi says that Miley's actions have yet to cause her any real reason for major concern.

'I care for (her) so much (that) I’m so protective, but she’s good,' Demi explained in the interview. 'She’s got a good head on her shoulders.'

Demi has said in the past that she refuses to surround herself with people who indulge in risky behaviour, and it seems that Miley will continue to stay in her life.

'I surround myself with people that are beneficial in my recovery and my recovery is still a daily battle and I definitely hang out with people that support me in making the right decisions,' she has once said.

'I’m a happier and healthier person today because of the choices I’ve made.'

Demi, whose hit song Heart Attack is up against We Can't Stop in the Best Female Video category at the upcoming MTV VMAs, says she actually likes Miley's party anthem.

'I think it's great,' Demi said about the track.

'I think it's a good song... It's a song a lot of people have fun to and if people are enjoying it, then great.'

Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and co-written by Miley, Mike WiLL and Rock City, Miley's new song We Can't Stop features risque lyrics that appear to refer to illegal drugs.

'La-da-di-da-di, we like to party/Dancing with Molly,' is one of the lyrics.

Molly is widely regarded as a slang term for a pure form of the party drug ecstasy.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Miley seemingly confirmed that she was in fact singing about the drug.

'It depends who's doing what. If you're aged ten [the lyric is] Miley, if you know what I'm talking about then you know,' she told the Daily Mail.

'I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they've already had to edit it so much.

'I don't think people have a hard time understanding that I've grown up. You can Google me and you know what I'm up to -- you know what that lyric is saying.'

Miley, who has well and truly shed her good-girl image, also revealed that the video for We Can't Stop was in fact more explicit than the version played in the UK.

'They’ve edited the video here in the UK. They put a big X over my mouth ’cos I was going like ‘this’ (she makes a gesture for oral sex).'
Showing some skin: Miley has continued to shock with her racy wardrobe too

She continued: 'No gyrating, no ***********, there was a lot less. They took out literally everything. I thought the video wasn’t bad, then MTV in the UK sent, like, 18 notes asking for changes.'

She admitted she wasn’t concerned about alienating her younger fans.

‘I wasn’t really worried about it because I feel that time was something that I had to do what everyone has to do – work at something that you don’t necessarily love to get to be able to do what you do love,’ she said.

Continuing, she added: ‘I would say everyone has to start from the bottom, to get where they want to go and work on things they don’t really care about doing.

‘So I had to do that for five years. I had to work on something that wasn’t really a passion for me just because I wanted to be able to get here, so when I was older I’d be able to just do what I want and not have to work for money.'

While the video has raised eyebrows, Miley insisted that it isn’t really too provocative and when we asked what she would say to those who think it is, she quickly responded making a reference to the recent Trayvon Martin trial in the US, which saw George Zimmerman found not guilty of murdering the black teenager.

She replied: ‘Then I’ll give you an edit. I just think the world is so lame because you can shoot people in a movie and you can let people like Zimmerman off on trial but you can’t have someone going like this ( she stimulates oral sex gesture), that is so dumb to me.

Clearly passionate about the issue, she continued: ‘The world is such a ***ked up place the last thing people need to worry about is my cute little video for We Can’t Stop, you know what I mean?

'People need to also remember that Britney when she did Slave or anything it was just a different time so it was less real because Can’t Stop I wanted it to be kind of gritty, like everything is about Instagram, about things going viral and I wanted to celebrate that.

‘But Britney or Madonna never played it safe, none of the best pop artists ever did.  I feel like I live in a different world, I live in LA, I see everything.'

Justin Theroux brokers 'peace treaty' between Jennifer Aniston and her mother in time for their wedding

She has been estranged from her mother for years – but now Jennifer Aniston’s fiancé Justin Theroux is attempting to broker a peace treaty in time for their wedding.
Stunning Jennifer, 44, joined her fiancé and his mother Phyllis Grissim-Theroux for dinner in Manhattan on Monday night.
Contrary to reports, however, the trio were NOT joined by the star’s mother, Nancy Dow, at the Blue Hill restaurant – where Justin to proposed to Jennifer on his 41st birthday on August 15 last year.
And a source told MailOnline: ‘Right now, Jennifer is going back and forth. As it stands, she’s going to invite Nancy to the wedding – but it’s not set in stone.

If Nancy does get an invitation it will be a remarkable turnaround of events as Jennifer stopped talking to her mom after Nancy gave a television interview in 1996 about the relationship - and later wrote a revealing book, ‘From Mother And Daughter To Friends: A Memoir' about their problems.

The rift was so bad that Jennifer failed to invite her mother - now 77 - to her 2000 wedding to Brad Pitt, saying in 2001: 'This is the last chunk of disease in my life – my mom.'

But the friend said: ‘Justin has been instrumental in convincing Jen to reconcile with her mother. He's encouraged her to forgive Nancy for writing a book about Jen and giving interviews about her that she regarded as excessively indiscreet.‘

‘Two years ago Jen was adamant she'd never talk to her mother again. Justin has asked her to give her mother another chance especially as she's been recovering from a hip operation.

‘Justin's mantra is that time heals and he's urged her to invite her mother to the wedding.’

In September 2011, Jennifer was believed to have rushed to her ailing mother’s bedside after she suffered a serious stroke, with Justin by her side.

At the time many hoped fears for her mother’s health had finally put an end to the bitter rift that had torn them apart for more than a decade. However, Jennifer soon flew back to New York.

The former Friends star, who is currently filming her new movie Squirrels To The Nuts in Manhattan – while Justin films his new HBO pilot at the same time – has joked that she always hits it off her mothers-in-law, according to the source.

Indeed she remains so close to Jane Pitt, the mother of movie star Brad, that Jane is most definitely invited to the wedding.

And Jennifer has become equally as close to her new mother-in-law-to-be, Phyllis.

‘Jen and Justin's mother have bonded over a number of shared interests, notably trying to get Justin to curtail the speed with which he drives his motorbike,’ said the source.

‘Justin's mother hits it off with Jen because she has written a book about California and they often talks about West Coast life. Jen finds her fascinating.

‘But she's also been instrumental in convincing Jen that New York is a great city. Jen swore off New York saying it was like "living in a goldfish bowl" but she's gone back to liking it while she's been filming We're The Millers and The Theroux family have been instrumental in changing her mind.’

As MailOnline revealed, Jennifer and Justin put their summer wedding on hold due to their increasingly frantic work schedules.

They also disagreed over where to tie the knot – but are now believed to be preparing to wed in California in December.

While they won't have the ceremony at their newly renovated $21 million Bel Air mansion - they may well use it for an A-list reception.

Picking a royal name to define an era

 kate middleton,prince william,royal baby
London - The Victorians. The Edwardians. The Elizabethans.

Royal names can define a generation. So imagine the pressure on the new parents to pick the right one!

Now that Prince William and his wife Kate have a baby boy — the third in line for the throne — they must choose the name for a royal who may take Britain into the 22nd century. They'll start by considering British monarchs from the past.

Elizabeth I offered her name to the golden era in which Britannia ruled the waves and the Elizabethans consolidated a renaissance of national prosperity. Victoria's reign was defined by rapid industrialisation with straight-backed Victorian morality. Her son, Edward VII, lent his name to the champagne and cigar period before World War I in which the rigid class system came under attack.

"Names do define an era," said Robert Lacey, a royal historian, who has written books on Prince William's mother and grandmother. "Who knows as we look into the future what will happen."

'Names always matter'

With so many people to please — inside and outside the palace walls — the House of Windsor is likely to pick more than one name for the boy who was born in London on Monday. After all, his father Prince William, aka William Arthur Philip Louis, has four. There may be a nod to great grandfather Prince Philip, or grandfathers Prince Charles and Michael Middleton, Kate's father. Or King Arthur. Or a host of other dead kings.

But the first name, that has to hit the right note. It is likely to hang around a bit.

The royals will be thinking not just what the name means to them — but also what it means to the country. And you can't just pick any name either. It has to have gravitas. Commoner names — even classic British ones like Nigel or Rodney — won't do.

"Names always matter," said Albert Mehrabian, a professor emeritus of psychology at UCLA and an expert on baby names. "The public's image of this child could quite possibly be influenced by the baby's name."

Noble names are steeped in history, which explains why thousands of bets have rolled in to British bookmakers for the names George and James. George evokes the steadfastness of the queen's father, George VI, who rallied the nation during World War II. James VI united England and Scotland — and shares his name with Kate's brother.

A name to a new century

The impression attached to a name is important, Mehrabian said. When you think of "Alexander," you think of Alexander the Great; "Elizabeth" and you think of Queen Elizabeth II.

And this child, whatever his name, is likely to mark a watershed in the relationship between the royals and their subjects. Prince William chose to eschew a royal match and married a commoner from the village of Bucklebury — continuing the process of making monarchy more accessible — an idea championed by his mother, Princess Diana.

The heir may give a name to a new century, to a country that has changed so much socially and philosophically that the daughter of a flight attendant and an air traffic controller is now in line to be queen.

"This is the historical element of this," Lacey said. "Let us see how that is reflected in the names."

The royal couple may well take their time in deciding. Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh took a month before settling on the name Charles for the Prince of Wales. Princess Diana and Prince Charles took a week before settling on William's four names.

"Who knows what the future will hold," said Timothy Long, a curator at the Museum of London, which is celebrating the royal birth with a special exhibition showcasing royal baby items. "But I'm sure with that comes a little bit of pressure."

The bookies are hoping for everyone to take their time. The bets just keep rolling on in while everyone ponders the future.

"We're taking in money by the pramload," said Rory Scott, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, a bookmaker.

It's also taking wagers on the royal baby's first word and where he will be christened.

The Chelsea boss says his former club Real Madrid are so rich they can afford to ignore ANY offer United make.

Speaking in Kuala Lumpur on the Blues’ Asian tour, Mourinho said: “What I know is that Real Madrid is such a rich club they don’t need to sell.

“It is such a rich club I think they can ‘eat’ any offer a team can make for Ronaldo.

“I know he loves Manchester United and I know he loves the Premier League — but I think he is going to stay.

“It’s just a feeling, I’ve had no contact, nothing like that. Just a feeling.”

Helen Flanagan is mortified after she takes a tumble thanks to vertiginous heels

She had put so much effort into her outfit but Helen Flanagan could have done with putting some thought into it too - after she tripped up thanks to a pair of vertiginous heels on Monday.
The former Coronations Street star fell right over, after her foot slipped out of a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps that boasted a ridiculously high heel and platform.
Helen tried to break her fall with her arms, but she still ended up on her bottom.

It was clear that she was embarrassed by the situation as her friends rushed to her rescue, to try and pick her back up.

But judging from Helen's body language, which saw her clap her hand over her mouth, the reality star was more than a little mortified by the situation.

Helen was leaving a restaurant in Liverpool after having dinner with her Celebrity Super Salon co-stars when the slip-up occurred.

While house shoes are the likely reason for her fall, her inability to control her balance could also have been down to overindulging in some wine at the meal.

But while Helen managed to avoid tears and took her accident in good spirits it seems one reality star was rather amused by the situation.

James Argent was seen laughing hysterically as the pair drove away, with Helen clutching at her heels in her lap.

And it seems all the pampering and preening has rubbed off on Helen as she opted for an extravagant hair-do as she headed to filming on Monday morning.

Sporting an over-sized bee-hive and a tight pink dress the 22-year-old looked like she had taken inspiration from Barbie as she strolled alongside new best pal James Argent.

But unlike the plastic doll the former Coronation Street star’s dress didn’t quite fit like a glove and instead pulled across her slim body.

Featuring frill detail around the sleeves and slim straps, it seems the actress decided to forgo wearing a bra as she revealed perhaps a little too much of her chest as she strolled along.

Completing her outfit she wore a pair of towering nude coloured platform heels, that were clearly not the most appropriate thing for a day on her feet.

Helen is appearing in Celebrity Super Spa alongside Yvette Fielding, Jody Latham, John Burton Race, and Rustie Lee.

The laughs with the TOWIE star are no doubt just what she needed after a difficult few months, after her four-year relationship with footballer Scott Sinclair crumbled amid claims he had been 'sexting' another woman.

Helen moved out of their shared £6,500-a-month rented mansion in Alderley Edge, Cheshire and has since been living with her parents in Manchester.

Although the Manchester City footballer is unsure over their future, Helen is adamant they should get back together.

She told The Sun last weekend: 'I’ve always been deeply in love with Scott and the past few weeks have been heartbreaking.

'I want to work things through and get back together. I just want to be happy again. We’re spending time apart to sort things out, but my feelings for him have not changed.'
