Kanye will headline Wireless soon after his wedding to reality star Kim Kardashian

Soon to be wed Kanye West is set to headline the opening day of the Wireless Festival 2014.

The Bound 2 rapper – who will marry reality star Kim Kardashian this summer – will take centre stage in London on Friday July 4 with support from Grammy winner Pharrell Williams, Basement Jaxx and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

Rihanna's bosom buddy Drake will headline Saturday July 5, while a newly reunited OutKast will be the big draw on the closing night despite the headline slot going to Grammy winner Bruno Mars for his first UK festival headline performance on Sunday July 6.
The festival which previously enjoyed several successful years in Hyde Park will this year span two sites V Festival style.
And festival goers can enjoy the weekend for the very first time at London’s Finsbury Park and Birmingham’s Perry Park.
Promoter Steve Homer said: 'Wireless Festival celebrates its 10th year this year and we couldn’t be more thrilled to mark this momentous anniversary by taking it to a second site, Perry Park in Birmingham, and a brand new site in London, Finsbury Park.

Ellie Goulding, Salt N Pepa, Rudimental, Ella Eyre are also on the bill with many more acts to be announced soon.
Meanwhile OutKast have been named as the first headliners of Bestival 2014.
The hip-hop duo, made up of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, have reunited and will be one of four acts topping the bill at the event on the Isle of Wight from September 4 to 7. 
Bestival organiser Rob da Bank said: 'I'm pretty darn excited to announce that OutKast are headlining Bestival this year!
'We've fought hard to get the recently reunited legendary hip-hop duo onto the ferry ... and it's no ordinary ferry this year as Bestival goes Desert Island Disco for 2014. Palm trees, grass skirts and mirrorballs are the order of the day. It truly is gonna be the Bestival yet!'
OutKast are also playing Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, alongside Arcade Fire and Music, in April, after reuniting for the first time since 2007.
They plan to perform at 40 live shows, including Florida's Big Guava Festival and Hangout in Alabama in May and New York's Governors Ball in June.

One company decided to look into what some of the biggest celebrities would look look like if they hadn’t found fame - and the team of hair stylists, make-up artists, plastic surgeons and fashion consultants that come with the package.

 

The design team created some concept images using existing pictures of a selection of Hollywood celebrities showing what they may look like if they lived in the mundane world.

The design team focused on features on the celebrities that they believed had clearly been professionally worked on, such as Tom Cruise and his pearly Hollywood smile and Kim and her perfectly shaped eyebrows.

The best makeunder of the bunch is undoubtedly 33-year-old Kim Kardashian. With her dark rimmed spectacles, blotchy skin and bushy brows, the star is virtually unrecognisable.
Rihanna too has been treated to a believable transformation.
Images of Nicholas Cage, Tom Cruise and Sharon Osbourne, meanwhile, are slightly more ridiculous.
Tom Cruise and his crooked teeth resemble a hillbilly, while 50-year-old Nicholas Cage looks almost double his age with a bald head and wrinkled skin.

Speaking about their work, www.vouchercodespro.co.uk, who helped create the images, said: 'Have you ever caught yourself in the middle of a daydream wondering how you would look if you had millions in the bank and an endless amount of fashion and beauty help at your fingertips?
'No wonder the A-listers all look so perfect when you take into the account the ridiculously long list of people whose job it is to make the Hollywood elite look effortless whilst they walk up and down the red carpet.

Ivanovic is also delighted to have midfielder Nemanja Matic, 25, back at the club after rejoining from Benfica for £21m.
“He was my best mate the last time when he was here,” said Ivanovic. “Now, for me, he is like my brother and we do a lot of things together.
“He is now a proper player, he has come back after two-and-a-half years in Portugal, where the people loved him.
“He has a different confidence, is a different player, with a different attitude so he must be very important for us.
“And, yes, he looks so much stronger. I don’t know what happened, you have to ask the guys in Portugal!”

Mourinho hails Essien as Chelsea stalwart seals free transfer to AC Milan

Michael Essien's eight-and-a-half-year spell at Chelsea is over after AC Milan signed the Ghanaian midfielder on undisclosed terms on Monday.

The 31-year-old joined the Blues from Lyon in 2005 and made 256 appearances for the club, also enjoying a season on loan with Real Madrid in 2012-13.

His first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge had been limited in the current campaign and he has therefore now opted to pursue a career in Serie A.

Essien was in Milan to undergo a medical on Monday and put pen to paper on a contract that will see him remain with the Rossoneri until June 2015.

Essien becomes Milan's third reinforcement in the winter transfer window following the arrival of Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow and French defender Adil Rami from Valencia.

Pro-Democracy Group To Jonathan: Put A Stop To Reign Of Impunity In Rivers

A pro-democracy group known as the Voters Assembly, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to order the police to stop the reign of impunity in Rivers State.

The group, in a statement yesterday by its president,

Comrade Mashood Erubami, decried the political crisis in Rivers which it said has its origin in the differences between President Jonathan and Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

It described the situation as “growing lawlessness and political impunity”.

The statement said: “The growing lawlessness and political impunity going on in Rivers State call for the attention of all Nigerians, particularly a proactive action from President Jonathan. With the situation in the state, if nothing is done, it could become a festering ground for a setback for the 2015 democratic consolidation.

“The consequences of not taking immediate remedial actions by statesmen and leaders of parties to arrest the situation in Rivers State may engender a multiplier effect in other states, as manifesting already in Anambra, Nasarawa, Jigawa and Ogun. This could result in graver consequences for our democracy.

“President Jonathan cannot afford to look elsewhere and exhibit the attitude of indifference to the unwholesome development in Rivers State, particularly as a result of political difference going on among politicians, because of its grave consequences on the polity. He must, therefore, rise to the occasion and discharge his duties to preserve, protect and defend the constitution, in accordance with the law and in the best interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and security of Nigeria.

“The President must be seen to be doing right to all manner of people without consideration for political affiliation and ill-will.

“The obvious misuse of the police in River State unleashing terror on innocent citizens, who are committed to saving the state from the impunities of a few is not acceptable and stand condemned. Hence, efforts should be made by the President to make the Inspector-General of Police prevail on the Commissioner of Police, Mr. (Joseph) Mbu, to respect the law and rights of the people.

“The police under the law are obliged to respect the right of governors as the chief security officers of their states. A situation where the safety of the governor is put in jeopardy as is the case in Rivers opens the state and its indigenes to a danger of high magnitude and this can undermine the movement towards entrenching genuine democracy in Nigeria”.
